I cannot say enough great things about richies;
1. No cap, best bone-in chicken around without a close second.
2. Texas style wedges, humongous and filling and fried in the same oil as the chicken, creating an incredible taste.
3. Best honey-mustard around as well, reminiscent of canes sauce and even more-so chick-Fil-A sauce. It's ridiculously addicting
4. Opt for the spicy chicken, it is what they do best.
Now I will warn you, however, make sure you check your order before leaving. I have multiple times spent big for me and my friends only to be missing rather important pieces of chicken which while it was incredibly disappointing, the food is that type of slap your momma good that gives it a pass, and I won't let that take the 5 star away.
Get a Richies spicy 2 piece, breast and thigh, with cornbread and wedges, honey mustard, and opt for a drink from home. You'll only spend about $8 and you'll have more food than you can eat. -

I passed this place headed to I-75 back to Detroit from a visit to Cincy Children's Hospital where my son has been for over a month. Before I committed, I jumped on Yelp for a quick read on the reviews & it SEEMED favorable, so I went for it. I walked in & immediately noticed through the glass that there was a very slim choice on sides. Really?!? At 7pm tho I decided on my go-to, Catfish Dinner. At first, the lady said that they were out of fish...... but then, after going to the back, she magically found some . As I was choosing my sides, the lady kept repeating "we're out of that!"; No greens, no yams, no red beans & rice, no peach cobbler, *strike 1* so I was left with Mac & Cheese and JoJo's...yeah, two starches-just pitiful!
After waiting about 10min with no movement in the back, I asked the lady what was the holdup and she advised me that the fish has JUST BEEN delivered & they had to prep it for me (as if that was a "win" for me) She asked me to "be patient" *strike 2*
Ten minutes AFTER that, I finally received my order. As I was leaving, I asked for a complimentary drink because of the long wait....this chile' looked at my receipt and told me that I didn't order a drink-WOW *strike 3* I just shook my head & walked out!
If I'd paid cash, I would've demanded my money back sooner and left, but I use my card so I figured it was a greater risk to get a refund.
FYI: The fish was hot (duh) but the batter had no seasoning, the JoJo's were terrible and the Mac & Cheese was merely boiled noodles with liquid cheese sauce placed under the broiler for a few minutes!
What a waste -

Excellent shakes. Food Prices are to high and server Francisco was too slow and very rude. Will not return to this location.

I've driven past Richie's a few times commuting across town, not once did I get the urge to stop in from the restaurant's exterior. To be honest, sometimes I look twice, and think is this place even open? I saw two comments about this place that made decide to give it a try.
1) Yelp pictures showing crispy chicken and claiming it's the best fried chicken in Cincy
2) A fellow Yelper described a pretty underwhelming experience at Popeyes just up the road and suggested to just keep driving to Richie's.
I pulled up and noticed a huge parking lot, but parking spot lines are pretty much nonexistent. Once you walk in, they got you because the food is visible under heating lamps just behind a tall glass window and it's all picture perfect.
Ordered a three-piece chicken dinner, with mac and cornbread. You can select the type pieces to create your own meal. For casual take out it was quick and spot on. Very reasonably priced! Is it THE BEST fried chicken in Cinci? Not in my opinion, probably the best in Avondale/Clifton area, and is worth having again.
I'm convinced they will deliver the same crispy chicken each day. Only interacted Janna with the person at the cash register who was friendly, acknowledged me when I walked in and acted as an expeditor of sorts and made sure I received the correct sides, choice of bread and sauces that I asked for. I will try the spicy chicken next time as I felt the regular was under seasoned. -

If you're looking for comfort food for reasonable prices this is the spot. Everything tastes like someone's grandma or auntie made it.
The fried chicken is soak through the delicious. The seasoning is spot on and the spicy variety has a nice dry heat to it.
If you are abstaining from meat and missing fried chicken get the potato wedges- they have the same kind of breading layer that the fried chicken has and are addictive.
Other sides including greens and green beans are excellent. We ordered cornbread but the ran out so we got rolls instead- they were average rolls but that's ok because they are not the star of the show.
I definitely recommend giving the chicken here a try; if you have a family event they family meals are perfect for these occasions as well.
